Champion bloodlines are the foundation of Show Den's winning breeding program

                             WE BREED FOR QUALITY FIRST

We do not breed many litters and at Show Den we breed to produce the best quality to continue to exhibit our breeding stock in the show ring. In hopes that the next generation will be a vast improvement to the one before.  We breed mostly to add to our own breeding stock and show lines. Our breeding guidelines are to meet the Labrador Retriever Standard as close as possible and to produce an all purpose well balanced sound Labrador Retriever. For this reason we have to be very selective in our breeding program. We use champion bloodlines and only breed dogs that have been tested and have their hips & elbow OFA certifications. We test all of our dogs for their hips, elbows, eyes and heart clearances before any breedings take place.

Our very first criteria for my breeding dogs is temperament. All of our dogs including our Stud-dogs must be able to run together in the yard without any squabbling. They must not gaurd, nor protect, nor sulk or show any signs of anything except happy good temper. Any dog not displaying the true Labrador Retriever temperament of the kind, outgoing, eager to please non-agressive toward man or animal will not be used in our breeding program.

In our puppy placement it is our goal to place the best quality labrador with you that will best suit your lifestyle. Show Den is not a puppy mill and we breed for the purpose of adding to our own breeding program and to continue to show our top quality breeding stock in the conformation show ring. Careful planning goes into each and every one of our litters by doing countless hours of research to match up only the finest pedigrees.

Here at Show Den all of our puppies are raised in our home. We passionately strive to improve and produce the best breed representation that we humanly can. With that in mind we take health and temperament very seriously. All puppies are thoughtfully bred and lovingly raised indoors, special puppies for special people. We look for families and individuals that plan on making their new puppy a main part and valuable member of their lives and family. This entails having the dog live as an indoor companion.

All dogs that we choose in our breeding program have their Hips and Elbows OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) tested as well as the Eyes Cleared from inheritable eye Disorders. This is done by a Board Certified Veterinary of Ophthalmologist (AVCO).   The tests that have been done on all breeding stock is carefully reviewed several generations back on each side. Unfortunately, as with any living creature it is impossible to determine with total certainty that all puppies will be completely free from any disorder. There are also outside factors that play a role in the health of your puppy, such a nutrition (over nutrition as well as under nutrition), and exercise (over exercise as well as under exercise). We will help to give the best information to eliminate any of these possibilities for the lifetime of your puppy.

All Show Den puppies come with a Florida Health certificate provided by a Board Certified Veterinarian, a microchip implanted, and copies of both parents' OFA health clearances. The puppy's health is guaranteed for 72 hours from the date and time of purchase, during which time you are encouraged to have your new puppy examined by your regular Board Certified Veterinarian. If it is determined by your vet that the puppy is not in good general health, simply provide a written veterinarian statement and your entire purchase price will be refunded.

Our pet puppies are guaranteed to be free of non-functional hip dysplasia up to the age of two years.  The puppies do come with their first two sets of vaccinations and are checked for internal parasites and de-wormed at 3, 6, & 8 weeks of age. There are additional puppy vaccines that will be needed up until 16 weeks of age as well as continued health care you must be willing to commit to.

Our puppies come with a head start in housebreaking due to the fact that they are already familiar with crate training practices. We strongly recommend the use of a crate. It provides your new puppy with a safe place or a “den”, and it gives you a wonderful advantage when training your puppy to eliminate outside. We offer other valuable tips to help you and your puppy have an easy transition time with each other.

We believe strongly in researching the breed you are considering before deciding to purchase a puppy. We also believe that a prospective puppy buyer should research the different types of breeders available.

Purchasing a puppy can be a 15 year commitment. It is in your best interest to ensure the health, trainability, and temperament of your new family member as much as possible.  We here at Show Den are here to help in anyway we can.

All of our pet puppies which serve as family companions are sold on AKC Limited Registration.

Although we are happy to provide valuable information on our website, WE DO NOT sell puppies or conduct the interviewing process over the internet. Please feel free to initially e-mail for more information, but expect to interview over the phone or in person. We believe very strongly that a prospective buyer should visit the home of any breeder they are considering. Puppy buyers should observe the living conditions of the puppy and the cleanliness of the home they were raised in. Prospective families should spend time with the adult dogs on premises and visit with the breeder before deciding if this puppy is right for them.
